Exchanges vs going on-chain
Two ways to hold crypto. On an exchange (Coinbase, Binance…), the exchange holds it for you — like money in a bank app. Easy, recoverable password, but you're trusting them: "not your keys, not your coins" exists because exchanges have frozen withdrawals and gone bankrupt before (pour one out for FTX).
On-chain, you hold it yourself in a wallet you control. Full ownership, no permission needed — and full responsibility. Nobody can freeze you, and nobody can save you.
The sane path for a normie: start on a reputable exchange with small amounts, learn, then graduate to self-custody for anything you'd cry about losing. And this platform will never ask you to connect a wallet — anyone claiming to be us who does is a scammer. Next module teaches custody properly.
