Coins vs tokens vs memecoins
A coin is a chain's native money — BTC on Bitcoin, ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana. You need the native coin to pay the chain's fees, no exceptions.
A token is anything built on top of a chain by anyone. Making one takes minutes and roughly zero skill. That includes stablecoins (tokens pegged to a dollar), governance tokens, and yes — memecoins.
A memecoin is a token whose product is attention. No revenue, no roadmap that matters — its value is community, jokes, and belief. That's not automatically a scam, but it means the price runs on vibes, and vibes are volatile. Anyone who tells you a memecoin is a safe investment is selling you something. CATE will never tell you that.
